School of Business Attends “2023 Mendun Fire Mairo Hotel and Service Industry Development Conference”

On June 30, 2023, Dean Lynn Lin, Zhang and faculty and students from the Hotel Operations Management Program at the School of Business were invited to attend the “2023 Mendun Fire Mairo Hotel and Pan-Service Industry Development Conference.”

The conference, guided by the China Tourism Hotel Industry Association’s Human Resources Branch, focused on the trends and practical operational management of human resources in the hotel industry. It also explored new topics, hotspots, and directions for the future development of the industry.

  The development of China’s modern hotel industry over the past 40 years has been a window into the country’s reform and opening-up. The industry has experienced a journey from nonexistence to establishment, from weakness to strength, and it continues to evolve with a diverse landscape. As the consumer market undergoes iterative changes, it is crucial for industry professionals to combine their inherent advantages, enhance hotel competitiveness, seize opportunities, and stand out amidst the industry’s turbulent transformations. This is undoubtedly a topic of great concern to industry professionals.

In the ever-changing tide of time, where variables change by the second, the only variable that hotel professionals can grasp is themselves. Through this forum, the Hotel Operations Management Program at the School of Business deepened its understanding of the industry and established close connections with it, laying a foundation for providing students with a broader platform in the future. Faculty and students absorbed valuable insights from the industry banquet, transforming them into motivation and passion, and enhancing their self-worth from multiple dimensions.
